1962- 2019

Alexandra Hays Borgmann, 57, died at home in Aurora, Colorado, on March 4, 2019 after an 11-month battle with biliary cancer. Born February 4, 1962, in Boulder, Colorado, she is a former resident of LaPorte, Colorado and Greeley, Colorado, and she graduated in 1980 from Poudre High School in Fort Collins.

She attended Aims Community College and worked as a typesetter and graphic artist, before taking up her passion, baking and cake decoration. After earning Baking Certification from Emily Griffith Technical College, she spent the last 15 years of her life as a cake decorator and cake decorating instructing, the last several years at Emily Griffith Technical College in Denver.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, Alexandra's survivors include her husband, Bert Borgmann; son, Logan (Tami); grandson, Gunnar; and daughter, Callie, all of Aurora, Colorado. Other survivors include her mother Jaclyn Wilcox (Denver, Colorado), stepmother Roberta Hays (Greeley, Colorado), and sisters Laura Gee (Luverne, Minnesota) and Samantha Hays (Jacksonville, Florida). Alexandra was preceded in death by her father, the Honorable Jonathan W. Hays and stepfather Charles Wilcox.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. on April 6 at Smoky Hill United Methodist Chuck in Aurora. Memorial contributions in Alexandra's name should be made to Feed the Children or Emily Griffith Technical College.
