Alex Miller, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away in Denver, Colorado on January 5th, 2014, a few days short of his 95th birthday. He was born in Scottsbluff County on January 14, 1919 to Catherine and Fred Miller. He rejoins the love of his life, his wife Katie, who preceded him in death in January 2001. Alex Miller farmed in the Vale-Newell South Dakota area for 46 years before retiring to Denver in 1986. He then went to work for Sears Corporation for an additional 14 years. He served on church boards, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the churches in Vale and Newell, South Dakota. After relocating to Denver, he attended and became a faithful member of Faith Community Church in Littleton, Colorado. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Katie, his sons Steve and Robert, his sister Mary Knaub, his granddaughter Laura Maes, and four brothers Henry, George, Fred, Reinhold. He is survived by his sons Jim (Kathy), of Denver, Colorado, Bill (Rose Mary) of Denver, Colorado, sister Geraldine Post of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, daughter-in-law Maxine of Rockford, Illinois, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He left a strong Christian heritage and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service, Thursday, January 9, 2014, 2 pm at Faith Community Church in Littleton, Colorado.
