Agnes N. Miller

Agnes ""Nan"" Miller, Age 93, was a resident of Heather Gardens in Aurora, CO and passed away on May 8, 2016. Nan was born in 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to the United States with her parents, Robert and Agnes Hendry in 1924. Agnes was raised in Richmond Hill, NY. She was a well educated hard working woman. In 1945 Agnes married Arthur Miller of Brooklyn, NY. Together they raised five children on Long Island, NY. As a young woman, Nan loved to ride horses but her passion in life was reading books. She was such an avid reader, that you never saw her without a book in hand. She was also quite the game and card player as her friends and family can attest to. She worked for many years as a clerk and Secretary for the Nassau County Police Force in New York, and upon retiring in 1984, Nan and Artie moved to Colorado. In 1996, Nan fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting New Zealand and Australia. Nan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Agnes Hendry, by her sons Douglas, Danny and Arthur Jr. and by her daughter, Nancy(Lenny Diana). She is survived by daughters Kathi Maughan (John) of Golden Valley, AZ, Eileen Kear of Franklin Square, NY, Laurie Roos (Karl) of Centennial, CO. Grandchildren: Wendy Schmittzeh (Mark) of Sayville, NY, Jennifer Harrison (Richie) of Panama City, FL, James Willaims of Lake Havasu City AZ, Amanda and Eddie Kear of Franklin Square, NY and Nicole and Austin Roos of Centennial, CO. Great grandchildren:Taylor Schmittzeh, Kyle Tudor and Colin Harrison. A Memorial Service will be held for Nan Friday June 3rd 2016 at 4:30PM at Heather Gardens Clubhouse 2888 S Heather Gardens Way Aurora, CO, 80014. Please give your condolences to the Family
