Adeline Rose Cic was born on March 10, 1921, to Marie and Carl Luchetta in Denver, CO. She grew up in north Denver with her two brothers, Mike and Carl Jr., who she remained close to throughout her life. Adeline worked as a seamstress in downtown Denver before her marriage to Anthony J. (“Tony”) Cic on Sept. 27. 1942, at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. They were blessed with 3 children, Donna M., Anthony C., & Michael T. Cic, who they raised in their north Denver home. Their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the light and the love of their lives.
Adeline had many fond memories of growing up in the community of “Little Italy” in north Denver. She enjoyed the simpler pleasures in life: bowling, playing cards, visiting with friends and neighbors over coffee and doughnuts, going to the occasional dances at the Sons of Italy, and doing crafts. She was a longtime fan of the Denver Broncos and of Glenn Miller, as well. Adeline was a wonderful cook who proudly shared her culinary skills with family and friends during the holidays, on special occasions, and often for no reason at all. She would often say, “Are you hungry? Let me get you something to eat.”
Adeline lived in north Denver all of her life until she was forced to sell her home due to age and health constraints at the age of 102. Even then, she continued to receive regular visits from family and friends until her death. She was called home by her Lord on Feb. 20, 2026 at Inglenook care facility in Brighton. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her dearly beloved husband and son, Anthony J. Cic and Anthony C. Cic, and her grandsons Jerry Davis and Cory Cic.
Recitation of the rosary and the Order of the Christian Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 9:30 AM at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 3549 Navajo St., Denver, CO, with internment at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in her honor to either The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or to the Alzheimer’s Association: Colorado Chapter.
