Mattie Miles

Mattie Miles, of Highlands Ranch, CO passed away on January 1, She lived an abundant life and died peacefully with her daughter by her side.

Mattie was born on Feb.28, 1936 to parents Robert and Jessie Campbell in Rosebud, TX. After Mattie graduated from Rosebud High School in 1953, she went on to study at Tuskegee Institute.  After graduating with a degree in Education she started her first teaching job in Lubbock, TX.

In 1958 she married Richard Miles Jr. in Philadephia, PA. Mattie and Richard went on to have two children, Terrence and Michelle.

After retiring Mattie enjoyed spending time with loved ones, volunteering in church and politics, international travel, bingo, and the great outdoors.

Mattie is survived by her two children, Michelle and Terrence, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and those who considered her Grandma.

Her funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More, in Englewood, CO on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 11am.  The rosary service will be immediately before the mass at 10:15am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Charities or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
