Matthew Hamilton Wilson, age 57, died at his home on August 2, 2022. Born March 15, 1965, in Denver at Rose Hospital, he was a lifelong Denver resident. Matthew graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver and went on to work as a Floor Clerk at the ARC Thrift Store on South Broadway for 36 years, being the first person with developmental disabilities employed by ARC stores. He was an avid and talented artist who enjoyed comics and drew and captioned his own work.
Matthew received services from Rocky Mountain Human Services, was involved in Roundup Services, as well as participating at Beyond Bayaud for social activities. Survivors include: his Mother Sylvia Wilson of Lakewood, his younger brother Christopher (Amy) and his niece, Sarah, also of Lakewood. Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Marvin, and his twin brother Jonathan. The last year of Matthew’s life was enriched by his loving new family Ferry and Kafri Riza. They took many trips together which provided fun new experiences for Matthew.
Matthew and his brother Jonathan were inseparable, and they were often seen together doing the things they loved, whether that was attending science fiction and comic conventions, visiting malls and libraries, or attending concerts by their favorite artists Billy Joel and Elton John.
Matthew was a quiet and caring man, and throughout his life he touched the hearts and lives of many of those people that he encountered.
He will be interred with his father and twin brother at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
