Karen Short

Karen was born on January 22, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Judie Bardwell West and Rex B. West. She grew up in Denver, graduated from Manual High School and attended CSU. Her career included many jobs in Construction Management and Interior Project Development for Homart, DTC Development, Al Cohen Construction and Shea Properties. Karen's many interests included, swimming, tennis, road trips, fly fishing and being in the Mountains where she found complete happiness. In the summer of 2002, Karen's life was about to change. On Match.Com, she met Jeff Short. Approximately two weeks after meeting, they were never apart. They were married on April 4, 2004. Karen and Jeff were soul mates, best friends and partners in life. She found the happiness in her life with Jeff that she had always searched for. Karen was predeceased by her mother, Judie Bardwell Gragg and her Aunt Betty Dressen. Survivors include her beloved husband Jeff Short, father Rex B. West of Va., brother Brian West of Va., Aunt and Uncle Betty and Lloyd Steinmann and numerous relatives and many special friends. A memorial gathering for family and friends was held on August 11th. Donations to The MS Society of Colorado in Karen's name would be appreciated.
