Jane Smith

Loving wife, Loving Mother, Loving Grandmother of three generations. Jane completed her “Life Journey” very peacefully, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home.  She fought a tenacious battle against COPD and was very aware of the finality.  As she mentioned to her family a few days before her passing, “She was ready to move on, - - - just having trouble finding the door!” She was 93.

Born in Ida Grove, Iowa and raised in Sioux City, she completed two years of college in Chicago, majoring in Theater Production.  Her education was interrupted when her family moved to Denver as a result of health issues with her mother.  Fully intending to return to complete her studies, her path took a turn when she met the boy next door, fell in love, and married Glenn Merle Smith.  They were married for thirty-four years until his death in 1981.

Jane is survived by her children; Glena, Becky and KC; grandchildren, Brandy, Wes, Ben, Tiffiny, Aftan, Shawna and Treavor; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Devon, Kaden, Ronan, Javin, Avik, Jaxon and Ryan; and great-great-grandchild, Kinsley.

Her entire family was able to be with her, talk with her, and wish her well for days before her passing.  We will all miss her but will always hold her dear in our hearts!

She finally found the “door” and is now able to join all of her loved ones she has missed dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held for Jane on Monday, November 30th at 12:00 PM at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home Family Chapel located at 3101 S. Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood. A Committal service will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:15 PM.
