Dillon Micheal Vakoff, son of Lisa Vakoff and Dan Lammers, and grandson of Linda Vakoff. Beloved companion of Megan Esslinger. Cousin of Chadwick, Kaden, and Kollin Stewart, Alex and Paula Vakoff. Nephew of Terri Vakoff. Brother in-law of Korie Vakoff (Don). Uncle of Evelynn, Amarra, and Raven. Preceded in death by his grandfather Bill Vakoff, his brother Cody Vakoff, and his uncles Mike and Steve Vakoff.
A Public Celebration of Dillon’s life will take place at 10:00 AM Friday, Flatirons Community Church, 355 W South Boulder Rd, Lafayette, CO.
For being only 27 years old, Dillon accomplished a great deal and leaves a legacy of kindness, positivity, love for his family and those closest to him, and support for his Arvada Police Department team (even his “extended team” on Arvada Fire who often found Dillon joining them on scene to offer his support). Dillon had a reputation for having an uncanny ability to recover stolen vehicles and spent his shifts staying busy, looking for opportunities to solve and prevent crime whenever time allowed. Dillon earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science and a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management. An avid body builder, Dillon was known for his dedication to training at the gym - daily sessions at 3:00 AM were the norm. Prior to becoming a police officer for the Arvada PD, Dillon served in the U.S. Air Force, achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, participated in Pararescue training, and received the USAF Humanitarian Service Medal for his service in Saipan following a devastating typhoon.
