Dell Hogy

Dell R. Hogy, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023. He was born July 28, 1935, in Kensington, Minnesota, to Sally & Bennie Hogy. He became the man of the house at the young age of 13 and held various jobs throughout his life, from bagging groceries at age 12, to managing commercial and residential properties up until retirement. His most fitting job was teaching dance lessons at Arthur Murray, as he knew how to make even the worst dancer look like a shining star. Dell was a “fixer” and a helper, always eager to offer his services and engineering brain to help figure out how to solve any challenge at hand, with an eagerness to support those who needed it most. He was joyful and had a laugh that would light up a room. He loved Colorado and the Rockies and spent countless hours exploring, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, skiing, fishing and hunting. Dell found God in the great outdoors, and it was there, where he felt closest to the Man Upstairs. Most of all, Dell loved his family. Post retirement, he spent every possible moment with his growing family, where he was adored and admired by all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Emilie, his sisters, Jan and JoAnn, and brother, Darwin; as well as his children, Scott, Kathy and Bruce, and their families, including 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dell touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Family, friends, and others are invited to the Celebration of his Life at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 20th, 2023, at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County line Rd., Centennial, CO 80122. We will celebrate his wonderful life and all the love and kindness Dell has shared with this world.
