“Celebration of a Life Well Lived”

Jan Baller lived a Blessed life and we were Blessed to be part of it. She, more than anyone we know, led the life that many talk about. She took on each day with positivity and grace. She would do anything, at any time, for anyone. She helped people she barely knew, not out of obligation, but out of LOVE.

Jan prioritized the things in life that matter the most — God, Marriage, and Family. She had an amazing career and an entrepreneurial spirit, but you would have never known because Jan was always asking about you and your interests. She was respected and loved by all those that came in contact with her.

The world was first introduced to Jan’s bubbly personality on November 15th, 1945, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Jan was an Iowan at heart and was proud of the fact that she grew up in small town America. From a young age, Jan’s family instilled in her the value of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Jan’s relationship with Jesus is one that she cherished her whole life.

She was diligent in pursuing her Higher Education and her High School sweetheart at the University of Oklahoma. It was there where she started her lifelong passion of educating people and improving their lives through teaching. That passion ignited a career that took her around the world, training and speaking to multitudes of people and corporations where she shared messages about becoming your best self, working as a team, and improving the lives of your employees.

On September 2nd, 1967, Jim and Jan started their life together with their marriage in Jefferson, IA. They welcomed Jeff in 1970, Jon in 1973, and Joel in 1977. The boys married loving and supportive wives that Jan loved as her own daughters.  As God calls us to do, those families multiplied with 9 grandchildren that became the focus of her life. Jan’s lucky grandchildren were her light and her life. God had gifted Jan and Jim a family and family was what they chose as the priority for their life. Throughout the years, they made do with love over money and that is the investment that has paid off the most over the years.

Jan’s light will continue to shine bright through her husband of 54 years, Jim, her 3 sons and their amazing wives, her 9 precious Grandchildren, her brothers and sister, her many nieces and nephews, and all those she impacted during her time on earth.

I guess when you do it right, like Jan did, you leave a wake of blessed people, not sad people. She left nothing more to say, nothing more to do, no wounds to heal, no wrongs that need righting. She just left good thoughts and a legacy of love.

Join us in celebrating a precious lady that made us feel better every day by simply being around her. She loved giving compliments, she took interest in others, and she was positive about all things that she engaged in. She lived a life of complete faith and devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jan, thank you for shining your light upon this world for 76 beautiful years. It was a life well lived.
