Obituary

Betty Lee McClung was born on September 30, 1931, to Calvin William Hiser and Kessie Keeney Hiser in the small mountain town of Rainelle, West Virginia. She was one of 13 children. Betty loved nature, experiencing the beauty of the mountain ranges in both West Virginia and Colorado, but most importantly, she loved her family. Betty was such a loving and giving person to everyone she met, and everyone was welcomed into her home. She was an intuitive and down to earth soul who loved to spend a great deal of time making the garden in her backyard a very special place. She adorned her garden and yard with rocks collected from all over Colorado and the U.S. during her travels. Betty was known to many as "The Avon Lady", an occupation where she reached the level of Presidents Club and loved for over 50 years. Betty passed from this earth on May 29, 2018, in Englewood, Colorado.

Betty is survived by her three children, Jeff (Tami) McClung, Stan (preceded in death by Kathy) McClung, and Teri (Michael Dinges) Vaughn. She is survived by her grandchildren, Greg McClung, Jamie McClung, Michael McClung, Kasey McClung, Dylan Vaughn, Ashley Vaughn, and Breeanne Dinges; great-grandchildren, Aden McClung, Taylor White, Vincent McClung, Holly McClung, Sorsha Dolph, Kiera Vaughn-Collier, Ashlyn Grigsby; and one great-great-granddaughter, Hazel McClung. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Dorthy Mohan, Rosalie Rohden, and several nieces and nephews, and her former son-in-law, Wes Vaughn.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie William McClung, who she will join at Fort Logan National Cemetery. She is also preceded in death by her companion of many years, Chuck Friedenbach; her brothers who all bared the Hiser name: Eugene, Bruce, Claude, Ray, Andrine, Elwood, Leon; her sisters, Marilyn Kessler, Lucille Rose, and Bonnie Berry.
