Charles Philip Fullerton
Born: June 7, 1927. Died: April 12, 2018

Charles Philip Fullerton was born in Morrill, Nebraska. He was the first of three children born to Benjamin Franklin Fullerton and Bertha Elva (Warner) Fullerton. His father ran the grain elevator in Morrill, and his mother operated a knitting shop out of their home.

Charlie, as he was known to his friends, attended school in Morrill, where he was an excellent student and athlete. After graduation from Morrill High School, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago. Following discharge from the Navy, he enrolled at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. There, he met Peggy Ann Callahan of Louisville, Colorado. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and following Peggy’s graduation with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, they were married on September 2, 1951.

Charlie was recruited to join the Monsanto Company and immediately following their wedding, he started his career with Monsanto in Texas City, Texas. In 1963, he was transferred to St. Louis, Missouri, the company’s international corporate headquarters. He was part of its executive corporate leadership until he embarked upon a second career as a financial planner. In 1984, he was a founding partner of Roman, Butler, Fullerton & Co., now known as RBF Wealth Advisors in St. Louis, Missouri.

In 2008, after living in Chesterfield, Missouri, for 45 years, Charlie and Peggy returned to Colorado, building a home in Castle Rock. There, he was active in community affairs and an avid supporter of the University of Colorado, especially its football team. He was particularly dedicated to the congregation of Canyons Community Church.

Charlie died on April 12, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Nielsen of Aurora, Colorado (2018), and Jacqueline Rupp of Gering, Nebraska (2005). He and Peggy were married for 62 years, until her death in 2014. Their daughter, Kathleen Osterholt of St. Louis, Missouri, died in 2000. He is survived by his sons David A. Fullerton (Christine) of Denver, Colorado, C. Robert Fullerton of Carbondale, Colorado, and Paul T. Fullerton (Kathryn) of St. Louis, Missouri, eight grand-children and seven great-grandchildren.
