Obituary

Maria Socorro “Cora” Cantu passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at home with her loving family gathered around her. She was born June 2, 1931 in Sugar City, Colorado and was 87 years old. She attended Sugar City High School. Cora married Guadalupe (Wally) Cantu in Gonzales, Texas; they were married for 67 years. They moved to Denver, Colorado and resided in Westminster. She started a bakery business in Ken Caryl Ranch called “Mother’s Sweet Memories”. She loved spending time with her family, regular trips to her family cabin and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Wally; son, David, and his wife Vickie; daughters, Kathy, and her husband Allan, Laura, and Brenda, and her husband Rick; grandchildren, Sarah, Greg, Ryan, and his wife Briauna, Brian, Daniel, Rachel and Veronica; great grandchildren Caroline and Anderson; and brother, Arthur Martinez.

A Vigil Service will be Sunday, March 25, 2018, at 4 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado 80003. Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 26, 2018, at 10:30 AM, at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003. The family will host a reception immediately following at Indian Tree Golf Course. Private Committal Services will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
