Bob attended schools in the Denver area and graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1963. He then worked at his uncle’s doughnut shop, Dutchboy Doughnuts until he entered the United States Navy in October 1965. He served on two aircraft carriers and completed three tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on June 27, 1971. While in the Navy he married the love of his life Linda McCubbin on November 19, 1966. They began their life together by moving to Lemoore California and quickly settled into the Navy way of life. Their first daughter, Kellie was born in April 1968 while Bob was serving his second tour. Upon completion of his service Bob and Linda returned to Denver. Bob returned to his job at the doughnut shop and started college. He graduated in December 1973 from Metropolitan State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He then received his CPA certificate in May 1974. Bob and Linda's second daughter, Kasie was born in December 1974. Bob continued to work in the public accounting field for several years before going into the private sector in 1980. He continued to work in this field until his retirement in 2010 ending his career as a private business owner with good friend Gordy Seth. Bob and Linda moved to the Arvada area in June 1975 where they raised their family. He was very involved with both of his daughters and then three of his granddaughters in the Organization Job’s Daughters. Bob and Linda loved to travel and visited many lovely areas. Bob enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, bowling, restoration of his 1966 Mustang convertible and most of all cheering on his beloved Broncos!

In 2006 Bob was diagnosed with COPD. For many years he continued to remain fairly active until the last 12-18 months when his health started to decline fairly rapidly. After a couple of hospitalizations Bob was placed in long term care at Covenant Village. Despite his many struggles Bob continued to face each day with hope and humor and a strong determination to get well. In the end his focus was solely on the wellbeing of his beloved wife and family. Bob will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his generosity, sense of humor, love of life and dedication to his family. He will be extremely missed.
