Wallace (Wally) Ormand Strehlow Jr.
Our dearest brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend is now in heaven with our Lord God, his mother, Joetta Jean Strehlow, father, Wallace Ormand Strehlow and sister, Tammy Jo Strehlow. His passing happened abruptly of heart failure on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Wally was only 54 years old. He will be honored during a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at Bear Valley Church, 10001 W. Jewell Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80232. He will be laid to rest in Sedalia, Colorado at Bear Canyon Cemetery.
He is survived by his sister, Cindy Sutherland and her husband Joseph (Buzz) Sutherland. Brother, Douglas Strehlow and wife, Therese Callahan. Wally had six nieces Jennifer (Clint) Wages, Meghan Sutherland, Jill Sutherland, Kaylee Strehlow, Shelby Strehlow and Josie Strehlow. He is also survived by a great niece, Lynnae Wages and great nephew, Jackson Wages.
Wally graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Denver, Colorado. He completed classes at Metropolitan State College and received various certifications in Management, Quality, Production and Inventory Control.
He had many jobs over the years. He was employed at Stanley Aviation from 1987 to 2002 as a supervisor responsible for inventory procedures, capacity planning and quality management/ISO-9000 requirements. From July 2002 to August of 2014 he worked for an O-ring company. He left the company to regain his health, refocus his priorities and to concentrate on his Christian faith.
Most recently he serviced equipment all over the state for elder care facilities. The most rewarding part of his work was the contact and relationships he formed with many individuals in the care facilities. He knew many residents never had a visitor, but they looked forward to seeing him and called out his name when he would walk in. He would bring little items various individuals would ask for just to show them that he cared such as a flashlight, batteries or Christmas lights.
Wally was truly an Angel. His countless acts of love, generosity, kindness and faith only begins to describe the difference and impact Wally made in every aspect of his life. He was and is someone who God lived through and this was demonstrated by his willingness to always come to anyone's rescue in their time of need. He was a jack of all trades in that he could fix anything, especially those of us who needed his support and assistance. He could take anything apart and put it back together in an amazing manner. He was an honest and genuine person who was constantly trying to be the best person he could possibly be.
He loved with his whole heart and his family was everything to him. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate special events or holidays with us. He had an enormous impact on everyone he met and his jokes, story-telling, jolly smile and laugh will be so desperately missed. He was courageous, during the loss of our mother that left a scar on his heart that never mended. However, now he is at peace and their spirits have been rejoined for eternity. He is now one of God's most previous Angels in heaven. We pray that everyone who knew Wally finds peace in knowing he is happy and in the arms of our Lord God.
Peace be with you as we honor Wally's passing.
