Obituary

Bobby Joe Lane Jr. was born on March 19, 1963 to the late Bobby Joe Lane Sr. and Marcelene A. Collie (Banks). Bobby was raised in the windy city of Chicago surrounded by four of his siblings-Phillip, Derrick, Terri and Jerry. Later in years, three additional siblings (by Bobby Sr.) would be added to this loving family-Typen, Tracy and Mark Lane-making the family complete.
In 1988, Bobby married Miss Kimberly Stuart. From this union, the amazing one and only child, Kyle Terrell Lane, was born.
During Bobby's formative years, he attended Shiloh Academy, where he graduated in 1981. Bobby's educational endeavors began at Oakwood College and in 1997, he received a Masters of Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University.
Bobby's professional career as a Human Resource Specialist began in Chicago, where he was employed as a supervisor for Loretto Hospital. Bobby moved to Colorado in 1999 where he continued his professional career in human resources, working for a number of companies--Xcel Energy, Colorado Springs Utility and the City of Englewood. Before his passing, Bobby served as Human Resource Generalist II Manager for City Boulder.
In additional to being quite the professional, Bobby Lane Jr. enjoyed a number of hobbies such as acting. Bobby's love for basketball led him to win a number of championship games as a high school student, which led to him being offered numerous sport scholarships from colleges across the nation. Because of his love for his faith and the Lord, Bobby turned down these opportunities as he realized that the lifestyle associated with a sport career would compromise his faith.
Bobby was known for his fun and charismatic personality. He enjoyed spending time with his family and having fun with friends-especially eating good home cooked meals on the Sabbath. Bobby touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. It was not unusual for Bobby to share a word of encouragement and provide Bible studies to anyone at work or home. Bobby maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end of his earthly journey.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Bobby passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017, surrounded by his family. Bobby Lane Jr. is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Derrick. Survivors who will cherish memories of his love, strength and faith include his son, Kyle Terrell Lane; siblings Phillip Eggleston (Gina), Terri Jones (Ivan), Jerry Ross (Esther), Typen Brown (Joshua), Mark Lane, Tracey Lane and a host of nieces, nephews, beloved friends and the love of his life.
