Dennis Joseph Santistevan, age 75, died at home peacefully surrounded by family on January 14, of natural causes.

Born February 1, 1941 in Costilla New Mexico. He lived in Silverton CO, Pueblo CO, Alamosa CO, El Rancho, New Mexico and Denver, CO and worked for the federal government in the Department of Labor as the area district director for 30 years until retiring in the fall of 1996.

Dennis was a member of Most Precious Blood Church and Gamblers Anonymous. He was involved in equal rights and was a member of the National Association of Affirmative Action Officers, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and Luz. He was a co-founder of Image Magazine and he was a supporter of tribal employment rights and Lakota Boys and Girls Indian School.

Survivors include:
Wife, Dolores; daughter, Carol Santistevan-Josue (Brian); son, Victor Santistevan; daughter Michelle Bascio; son, Mario Santistevan (Denise)and son, Dennis Santistevan, Jr. (Crystal).

Grandchildren: Desiree Duran (Jeff); Dionicio Rocky Gallegos (Nicole); David Bascio (Donielle); Mario Santistevan, Jr. (Henry); Anthony Santistevan (Alley); Jessica Santistevan (Daniel); Alexis Santistevan (Brittany); Austin Santistevan and Arianna Josue.

Great Grandchildren: Johanna Duran; Tailia Gallegos; Aubrinae Gallegos; Reece Duran; Anastacia Gallegos; Ruben Garcia and Renzo Bascio.

Siblings: Lucille Stollsteimer (Tony)-Pueblo; Delia Moreno (Domingo) – Commerce City; Veronica Chavez (John) – Arvada; Veva Gurule (Sunday) – Commerce City; Samuel Santistevan – Denver. Dennis was preceded in death by sister, Vangie Trujillo and parents, Anselmo and Arbela Santistevan.

Services will be held at Most Previous Blood on Friday, Jan 20, 2017 at 10:00 am. Rosary will be held at Most Precious Blood on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6 pm – 8pm.
Relatives and friends are welcome at Most Precious Blood Parish Center following the funeral.
