Ardis Evelyn Sigg, 88, of Denver, Colorado passed away December 31, 2016. She was born February 19, 1928 in Hooser, Kansas to Boniface F. and Ethel Clark Prather.

Ardis lost her father at the young age of 6 and was raised by her mother and grandmother. She graduated from Wichita North High School in 1945. She met Julius "Bud" at The Continental Ball Room in Wichita, Kansas on Mar. 14, 1946, shortly after World War II. They were engaged on September 17, 1946 and married on January 11, 1947.

Ardis worked at the Farmers Co-op for Phillips Petroleum but soon began raising a family. Motherhood was her top priority. She pledged with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in October of 1971. In 1972, a few years after moving to Colorado, she began working for JC Penney and later at Apartments and Homes of Colorado. During this time she also met her life-long best friend Doris Bankert and other numerous Sorority Sisters and friends. Ardis filled every office at one time or another during her 40+ years in sorority, 20 of which was as Secretary, in addition to being voted Woman of the Year several times as well as Valentine Queen. She also received the Order of the Rose award in 1986. During 6 years of service to the Elks Auxiliary, Ardis was President, Vice President, and Secretary. She was voted Charity Queen and Sweetheart Queen by the Elks.

Ardis was a parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church for 40+ years as well. She enjoyed ceramics, macramé, and collected butterfly knickknacks, angel figurines, and shot glasses from various trips. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains with family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and music; Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and Garth Brooks were her favorite. She was physically active and doing aerobics up into her late 70's.

She loved the family gatherings that were held almost every other week at their home in Aurora for 35 years where they would BBQ, play board games, cards, volleyball, and celebrate every birthday, holiday, and many other occasions.

Ardis is survived by her beloved husband of almost 70 years, Julius V. Sigg; children: Stephen Sigg; Michael (Christine) Sigg; Michele "Shelly" (Kyle) Hubbart; Jeffrey (Joyce) Sigg; Lisa (Keith) Lange; Darren (Kristie) Sigg; Brian (Jamie) Sigg; 16 Grandchildren; 20 Great-grandchildren; 5 Great-great-grandchildren; sister, Treva (Dick) Sanders; brother, Wendell Prather; many nieces, nephews and friends.
