Obituary

Joey L. Smith, age 45, of Denver, Colorado passed away June 27, 2016. Joey was born April 2, 1971 in Torrance, California, daughter to Michael and Sandy McClean. The family moved from California to Colorado Springs, Colorado and Joey spent most of her years growing up there. Later, Joey was longing for change in her life. She wanted a new start and Denver became the place where she would grow and blossom.

In the spring of 2001, Joey would meet Troy Smith. Their relationship was a whirlwind and the love between them grew quickly. Joey and Troy were married shortly thereafter on August 10th, 2001. Life was filled with blessings with the introduction of their first child Samantha. Later their family would grow to have two more daughters Alison 4 years later and Katelin 6 years later.

Joey was passionate about life and she filled her's with many activities. She enjoyed cooking, loved trying different recipes and being creative. She was a bit of a "Jack of all trades" and was never afraid to try different things; such as the time she began making her own candles. Joey also took pleasure in watching crime shows and would get lost in them.

Joey was most proud of herself when it came to working with cosmetics and was amazing with them. She was very knowledgeable about what the products could do for her clients and would show them exactly how to do it. She was very devoted to the people she served and made lasting relationships with her clients.

If you asked the people who knew Joey, they would say she had many best friends. This was because Joey had a beautiful way about bringing out the best in people. She treated everyone she met with grace, non judgement, and would look passed peoples flaws to see the good that they possessed. She could meet and have a connection with just about anyone and she touched many lives throughout her life.

Family time for Joey was best spent at home watching movies, being silly together, and cooking in the backyard. Spending time together was what made the Smith family work and Joey was the lively spirit of the family. Her best qualities are that she was a strong, beautiful woman with a huge heart who loved her girls and would put them first in life.

Joey was the embodiment of hope that the Smith family's future would always be good. She was unconditional love and saw through the faults of herself and others in her family and at the end of the day it was known that love and family were all that was needed.

Joey is survived by her loving husband Troy; her beautiful daughters Samantha, Alison, and Katelin; her mother Sandy; her sisters Jamie, Jan, Jodie, Jill; and her nieces and nephews Brooke, Chris, Amber, John, Mike, Michale, Don, and George. Joey was predeceased by her father Michael.
