Julianne Abbott, 91, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016.

Julie was born on February 5, 1925 in Lakewood, Ohio to Alexander & Katherine Hanushek. Julie was raised in Bay Village, Ohio and attended Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin from 1942-1946. She graduated with a B.S. in Geology and began working for East Ohio Gas Company. She subsequently worked for Standard Oil Company and Mobil Oil Corporation. While working at Mobil, Julie met and later married Robert (Bob) Abbott on August 10, 1954 in Milan, Ohio. Due to Bob's career, the couple lived in several cities over the years. These included Huntington Woods, Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, Saginaw, Michigan, East Lansing, Michigan, Okemos, Michigan, Boston, Massachusetts, Westport, Connecticut, Albany, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Westport, Connecticut (again), and McLean, Virginia. While living in East Lansing, Michigan, Julie gave birth to their only child, Michael Abbott on July 30, 1958. After Bob retired from Mobil Oil Corporation the couple moved to Savannah, Georgia where they lived until moving to Fairplay, Colorado, in 2001. While living in Colorado, Bob & Julie split their time between their home in Fairplay and Covenant Village in Westminster, Colorado.

Julie was an avid reader. She loved cooking, bird watching, and traveling and camping in their RV.

Julie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years. She was survived by her son, Michael (Cyndi) of Lakewood, Colorado; grandchildren, Megan (Addison) Maier of Denver, Colorado, and Ryan Abbott of Englewood, Colorado; sister, Martha (John) Carangelo of La Joya, New Mexico; and a niece and two nephews.
