Obituary

Tricia Dobbs Montgomery died peacefully in her home on Thursday. She was 82...going on 30. Born, August 10th, 1933 in Wayne Township, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Dobbs, sister to Bill Adams and Hap Dobbs. She attended Ridgewood High School and went onto New Hampshire's Colby Junior College, graduating in June 1953. Upon graduation, Tricia moved to Denver, landing a secretarial job with GMAC. She married Chick St John in 1954 and had two children: Susie and Tom St John. Tricia and Chick divorced in 1964. Tricia worked for Englewood State Bank from 1964-1967. She married Jim Hueston in February 1967 and adopted his three young children: Kim, Kathy, and Rob Hueston. Many would say, "And they were like…The Brady Bunch!" While lovingly raising her family, she was active in Jim's dental office, the dental auxiliary, children's hospital, and played bridge, golf, and tennis. She shared her gift of hospitality and her talents as an artist with all who knew her.

Upon the death of Jim Hueston, Tricia became an accountant for Saunders Construction Company and then The Feld Company. She married Jack W Montgomery in January 1988, and became a step-mother to Nancy Sadler and John Montgomery. Tricia and Jack were happily married for 28 years, enjoyed numerous travel experiences, and especially loved keeping up with their children, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Tricia was a competitive athlete and captained her women's 4.5 tennis team to a league championship. She was an accomplished golfer and had a hole-in-one at the age of 80! She traveled to 33 different countries over her lifetime, Italy being her favorite. As an empty nester, Tricia volunteered her time with the MS Society, her neighborhood homeowner's association, her church, Whiz Kids Tutoring, and was a second mom to two DU exchange students. She was always attractive, forever stylish, and enjoyed an active social life, constantly entertaining with great style and charm.

Tricia loved her family, she loved her friends, she loved her home, she loved her Colorado mountains, she loved to compete, she loved chocolate, she loved to paint, she loved to garden, she loved Puerto Vallarta, she loved to have parties, she loved to cook, she loved her church, she loved to read, she loved Taco Bell, she loved every holiday, she loved margaritas, she loved Elvis Presley, she loved poodles, she loved to shop with her grandchildren, she loved to play games, she loved to share herself with others. Whatever the relationship you had with Tricia, it was a special one! She LOVED…and she was loved by all!

Tricia is survived by her husband: Jack W Montgomery, her brother: Hap Dobbs, her children: Susie St John (David Ray), Tom St John (Lana St John), Kim Hueston Moore (Dick Moore), Kathy Hueston Rogers (Gary Rogers), Rob Hueston (Marie Hueston), her step-children: Nancy Sadler (Dan Sadler), John Montgomery, Sarah Montgomery, her 15 grandchildren: Mike Moore (Amanda), Wade Rogers, Jeff Moore, Lauren Moore, Molly Ray, Sarah Ray, Cari Sadler, James Hueston, Jack Sadler, Tyler Rogers, Katherine Hueston, Tommy St John, Alyssa St John, Brooke Montgomery, Bode Montgomery, her great-grandchildren: Quentin Moore, Amelia Moore, her nieces: Tori Adams, Kirsty Thoreson, Jane Somers, her nephew: Bill Adams.
