Wanda attended school in Emmett, Kansas until August of 1948 until Ivan and Alice decided to move their family back to their hometown of Lucas, Kansas. Wanda developed a great love of music and was devoted to learning to play several instruments. She received piano lessons in Lucas and organ lessons in Salina, Kansas. The clarinet, trombone and accordion were among some of the other instruments she mastered.

On May 11, 1983 she was united in marriage to Raymond D. "Gus" Brichacek. They remained in Lucas community until 1998 when they moved to Salina, Kansas. She was employed at the Schwann Food Company, retiring in 2010. In August, 2011 she moved to Broomfield, Colorado to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Wanda loved to entertain family and friends in her home. She loved cooking and baking and was eager to share her culinary creations with all. She enjoyed gardening, coin collecting, playing bingo and trying her hand at the casinos. She was fully devoted to her family and took great joy in preparing for family feasts and gatherings.
