Obituary

Our beloved Kenneth Leon Clark passed away from a heart attack on January 5, 2016 at the age of 77. He was born July 25, 1938 in Stillwater Oklahoma to Air Force Major Cortis Clark, Jr. and Santa Barbara artist, Juliette Clark. He has 2 younger sisters Kathy Clang and Suanne Craig. After graduating from Washburn University in Topeka, KS he moved to Santa Barbara, CA where he met and later married Karen Davidson. They had twin daughters, Gretchen and Heather. Ken had a passion for painting and graphic art and worked as a graphic artist for most of his career. He was also an active member of the Santa Barbara Art Association and showed his work at Gallery 113 and the Faulkner West Gallery. In 1994 he retired and left California to open "Comin' Ground the Mountain" coffeehouse with his daughter Heather in Empire, Colorado. Ken loved camping and the outdoors and especially loved visiting the National Parks. He was very proud to be a descendant of Chief Broom of the Wolf Clan of the Cherokee Indian tribe. He loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed. Ken is survived by daughters Gretchen Casazza (Mike Casazza) and Heather Clark and his three granddaughters Kathryn Casazza, Alaina Casazza and Makayla Lopez. There will not be any funeral services, but the family would love for the people that knew him to write in the online guest book. Donations can be sent in his name to Moving Arts Espanola a non-profit arts school for Native American and Hispanic children in New Mexico. PO Box 505, Velarde, NM 87582.
