Obituary

Marvin Doss was born October 11, 1928 in Morton, Texas, to Lawrence Truman Doss and Zula Gertrude Cornelius Doss. He had one sister, Cleo Stringer and one brother, Truman Doss, all preceded him in death. Marvin married Leoma Joyce Redden also of Morton, Texas, at the age of 19. They had 3 daughters, Vickie, Carla Shawn, and another baby who died at birth they called Baby Girl Doss. Marvin moved from Morton, Tx to Muleshoe, Tx then onto Taos, NM eventually making his way to Colorado. Marvin was a lover of people. He loved to be with them and helped many in need. Marvin was a notorious jokester and loved making people laugh! He always acted as though the ornerier, the better! Marvin loved his family dearly and enjoyed every moment he could have with them. Marvin had a great love for animals! He was known for feeding the neighborhood stray cats or any animal who looked hungry or in need. He loved to get up every day and leave bird seed for all the birds. Many neighborhood children referred to him as the "birdman". Marvin worked in the grocery industry for over 40 years, most of which was at Doss Market in Muleshoe, Tx and Mayfair Market in Denver, Co. Marvin then worked as a waiter for Cherry Oaks Retirement Home in Glendale, Co and eventually for Winsdor Gardens in Aurora, Co, as a bus driver. Above all, Marvin was a lover of Christ. He lived his life doing his best to follow Him and do His will. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Marvin is survived by Vickie Sanchez, 64, of Aurora, Colorado. Carla Shawn Quisenberry 62, of McCamey, Texas.
