Vincent Buric

Vincent Buric, 81, passed away on Thanksgiving Day after a long illness. Born in Lokve, Croatia, in the former Jugoslavia, he escaped from Communist rule as a youth fleeing to Austria and then America. He served two years in the US Army, became an American citizen, and worked many years in the field of medical research at the University of Colorado and the Veteran's Hospital as an Electron Microscopist. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deedy Buric, with whom he shared his passions for skiing, chess, and old Porches; his daughters Lee Buric, Rebecca Schneider; grandson Luce Luna; nephew Dean Mijalic, niece Heather Heanssler; and in Croatia his sister Marcia and 6 other nephews and their families. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, 3:00pm, Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Vincent's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 455 Sherman Street #500, Denver, Colorado 80203.
