Valerie Rombach

Valerie Rombach was born December 2, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence Herek and Elizabeth (nee Bostwick) Herek, and passed away February 3, 2017 at Sycamore Village in Swansea, Illinois. Mrs. Rombach worked as a medical technologist at both St. Joseph's Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, Colorado before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rombach; her parents, and her brother, Timothy Herek. Valerie is survived by four daughters, Janet Rombach, Fort Collins, CO, Margaret ""Peg"" (Alan Riggs) Rombach-Riggs, Swansea, IL, Rebecca (Daniel Waite) Rombach, Port Townsend, WA and Jennifer (Charles Letherwood) Rombach-Letherwood, Portland, OR. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Ryan Riggs, Devlin Riggs and Ivy Letherwood, her sister Judith Herek, of Sacramento, CA, her brother, Greg Herek, of Berkeley, CA, sister-in law, Mary Beth Herek, Omaha, NE, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, eight nephews and three nieces. Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017, 4PM - 5PM, concluding with the Rosary at 5PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Blvd. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, 10:30AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 East 7th Avenue Parkway. Following the Mass, there will be a Reception at Good Shepherd Church. The Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery will be private.
