Terri Colburn

February 2, 1930 — October 20, 2017

Mary Frances “Terri” Kemme Colburn passed into God’s arms on October 20, 2017. Born to Frederick and Sarah Kemme on February 2, 1930 in Denver, Colorado, Terri was an avid swimmer, skier, gardener and devotee of the visual and performing arts, known for her amazing energy and deep love of animals. Terri graduated from St. Mary’s Academy High School, attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia and was an accomplished real estate broker specializing in the central Denver neighborhoods. Married to Cyrus Leo Colburn, Jr. on February 3, 1951 together they brought up their four children Pamela Colburn, Cy Colburn III (Rebecca Hughes Colburn) Karen Colburn Stevens (Cort Stevens) and Michele Colburn Gonzalez (Carlos Gonzalez). Terri and Cy were skiing pioneers and Rocky Mountain enthusiasts and dedicated themselves to many Denver civic and artistic organizations and the Catholic Church. Terri is survived by her sister Patricia Kemme Ford, four children, and grandchildren; Chris Colburn (Jessie Dzundza Colburn) Kate Colburn and Charlotte Colburn; John Colburn (Kerry Quistad Colburn) Jane Colburn and Lindsay Colburn, Nicholas Gonzalez and Ryan Gonzalez. She is preceded in death by her husband. A funeral service will be held at Mother of God Catholic Church 475 Logan St. Denver, CO 80203 on November 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. and her wishes were to be buried with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 455 Sherman Street, Suite 500 Denver, CO US 80203 or at www.alz.org in her name, or St. Mary's Academy 4545 S.
