Susan Twomey

February 18, 1938 — April 21, 2015

Susan Dickerman Twomey died on April 21 at Porter Hospital following a short illness. She was born on February 18, 1938. Susan attended South High School and Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia, Missouri. She also attended a floral design school to become a florist. She worked for a number of flower shops in the Denver area, including the flower shop in the Brown Palace Hotel. Her floral design work spanned over 30 years. Susan married Charles L. Twomey on September 15, 1990. They had met some years earlier at a singles group at Central Presbyterian Church. They both enjoyed square dancing and attended several national square dance conventions. They also went on a number of bike trips in Europe. While Charles biked, Susan was able to ride along in the support vehicle. She said she got to see as much of the scenery as the bikers. Susan has the unique distinction of having lived in the same house in University Park her entire life. Susan is survived by her husband, Charles, along with several cousins. Her brother, Edward Day Dickerman, preceded her in death. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., on Wednesday, May 20 at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Monticello, Utah, cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies, 1385 S. Colorado Blvd., Suite 204B, Denver, CO 80222.
