Obituary

Steven Warren Craig, celebrated each day of his 64 years with gusto. He was a longtime resident of Lone Tree Colorado, who spent his final days in his new retirement oasis.

He enjoyed bowling, and making us all look bad with his super high scores, watching his beloved Broncos whether they were winning or losing, spending time on the golf course with anyone who would hit balls with him. His newest obsession was spending time playing computer games, making sure that he had the best equipment and procured the biggest collection of online race cars making sure he was a force to be reckoned with.

He had a passion for satisfying appetites in his kitchen, or anyone else’s with his homemade specialties including macaroni and cheese, pizza, and hot wings was one of his favorite ways to make sure that you knew you were loved! His fridge was never without a bowl of homemade French onion dip, and for dessert you could expect a Big Hunk candy bar, or a piece of Bit O’ honey and no meal was complete without a Bob’s Peppermint.

Steve was born on August 23, 1953 in Kennewick, Washington to Richard and Helen Craig, whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his Brother Robert W. Craig, and Sister Carol J. Cox (Joe H. Cox Jr); his step-son from a former marriage Jeremy Valdez (Cassie Valdez), and their son Dylan Valdez; his nieces Kimberley Fulcomer, Kathleen Davis; his nephews Kyle Jones and David Craig; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

Steve graduated from Adams City High School in 1971. Soon after started his career life as a Pipe-fitter with UA local #208 for 15 years, he then returned to school and earned an Associate degree in Applied Science. Over the years he worked at Black & Veatch, Stanley Consultants and URS as a Senior Physical Substation Designer. He was responsible for preparing detailed construction substations design packages, an achievement that he was very proud of and provided great happiness.

Steve loved his family, spending time with friends and all the many playgrounds of his life. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, and prayed that he would always be an infectious example for others and there is no mistake where he is today.
