Stephanie K. Abbott Diaz, aka 'Stevie', 65, of Parker, CO, passed away all too soon on the morning of May 6, 2016, in her home, surrounded by loved ones. Stephanie was born July 22, 1950 at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO, to parents Gerald and Shirley Hayslip. She attended Hinkley High School and later attended Community College of Aurora where she received an Associate's of Arts degree. For several years she worked in the Banking industry as a Mortgage Counselor and held various jobs in the medical field. Later she worked as a Recruiter for The Blood Donor Center for Children's Hospital. In 2012 she retired and began focusing on her hobbies. Her interests were varied and included quilting, cooking, genealogy, reading, movies, animals and many other pursuits. She held a deep commitment to her faith, her family and her friends. She is survived by her husband Craig Abbott; her daughters, Lisa Irwin and Erin Andretsos; her cherished step-daughters Dione Algrim and Chelsa Jacobson; her son(s) in law, James Irwin; Dale Algrim and BJ Jacobson; sister Dyanne K. Gordon; grandchildren Alexis Andretsos; Morgan Algrim; Delaney Algrim; and Kiegan Jacobson...and too many friends to list. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, located at 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado. All are invited to wear pink.
