Shirly Roberts

Shirly Anne Roberts, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 27, 2017. She was born in Denver, Colorado on March 27, 1934. Shirly is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy ""Bokie"" and Charles ""Bamps"" Panella. Shirly is survived by her husband, Vernon Roberts, her son, Chuck Roberts, her daughter, Kathy Wagner, her daughter-in-law, Leann Roberts, her son-in-law, Leland Wagner, her four grandchildren, Jeremy Barba, Stephanie Barba, Sharla Oliver, and Andrea Roberts, and six great-grandchildren. Shirly graduated from Englewood High School in Englewood, CO in 1952. She married Vern in Denver on October 25, 1952. They lived most of their married life in Denver and Plano, Texas. They moved back to Littleton in August 2015 to be near their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren after many years away. Shirly was a very loving wife and mother. Vern, Chuck and Kathy were the center of her life. After Chuck and Kathy were grown, Shirly fell in love with a little toy poodle named Topa. Over the years, she had many toy poodles that she owned and loved – Kiesha, Truffles, and currently Rainbow. Throughout her life, Shirly worked in the public schools in Denver and Plano. After she retired, she combined her love of dogs with her volunteer job at Baylor Hospital in Plano, TX. She brought much joy to the patients by bringing therapy dogs around the hospital to their rooms. Any flowers are requested to be sent to Horan & McConaty.
