Ruth Grimaldi

Ruth Grimaldi, born April 1, 1923, died peacefully on June 26, 2017, at the age of 94. Ruth was a long-time resident of Warren, Pennsylvania, where she and her husband Guy raised their family. After Guy retired, they spent part of each year and then settled permanently at their home in Nokomis, Florida. Ruth moved to Denver in 2012 following the death of her husband in 2010. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother and an adored grandmother. She took pride in her cooking and made the best prime rib, spaghetti and meatballs, twice-baked potatoes, and barbequed chicken on the planet. She was an avid golfer and won her club championship. She could parallel park like no other and harbored a secret desire to be a race car driver. She enjoyed playing bridge, read voraciously and instilled that love of reading in her children. Ruth enjoyed a good chat and made friends easily. A sweet and loving woman, she will be missed by all who knew her. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, and her son, Victor, who passed away from leukemia at age 8. She is survived by three daughters: Kathryn Martin of Orlando, Florida, Suzann Gobis (Lou) of Denver, Colorado, and Cynthia Sutton (Brice) of Betterton, Maryland; granddaughter, Kelisha (Ronald) Hart and two great grandchildren, Kyla and Nahla Hart of Orlando, Florida. Ruth will be laid to rest in Oliveburg Cemetery, Oliveburg, Pennsylvania, in the fall of 2017. Please share memories of Ruth and condolences for her family in the guestbook below.
