Colonel Robert Charles Ripple, USAF, Retired, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at University of Colorado Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1932 in New Hampton, IA to the late Ray C. and Emma Wilhelm Ripple. He was the youngest of seven children and the last surviving child. Robert is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 63 years, Joan B. Jackson Ripple; his children and their spouses, Scott & Mary Dunn Ripple, and Martha and Eric Marshall; and his grandchildren, Steven and John Ripple and Emma and Lillian Marshall.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was stationed in Germany, England and several places in the United States. He retired as a Colonel and he and his wife, Joan, moved to Colorado in 1977. Robert worked as an attorney specializing in tax and corporate law before joining the Attorney General’s Office from which he retired in 1995. After retirement, he fulfilled his dream to have horses. His pair was a beautiful Morgan/Friesian mix that he drove in carriage driving competitions. He was a member of the Colorado Driving Society. He also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with friends, and attending the opera with his wife. His greatest joy, however, came from his family, spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren. His zeal for his family and life will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

A private military committal and interment service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center, 5540 E. Hwy. 86, Franktown, CO 80116,\
