Pete Brummit

Pearl “Pete” Brummit, 93, passed away February 8, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Odessa Brummit; his children, Lonnie Boyd Brummit and his wife Hazel, James Ellis Brummit and his wife Kathy, Bruce Alan Brummit and his wife Lori, Lisa Estelle Virden and her husband Scott; his grandchildren, Braden (Brady), David, Diana, Matthew, Michael, Timothy (T.J.), Vincent, Carl, Shauna, Tyler, Sarah, Jacob, Analiese; sixteen great grandchildren; and his brother Huey Brummit. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mildred, Berniece, and Dorothy; and his brother Virgil ""Jack"". Pete was a WWII veteran serving in the Army from 1943 to 1945. He married his loving wife on August 23, 1945, they celebrated their 72nd anniversary in 2017. After the war, Pete returned to Illinois and attended watchmaking school. Then in 1959, Pete brought his family to Colorado and settled in Westminster. He retired from Coors in 1993 after twenty five years of employment at the container plant in Golden, Colorado. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and football; Pete was an avid Bronco fan. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday, Feb 16, 2018 at 11:00am at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 9998 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado. You are invited to join the family for a Reception immediately following the service. Memorial Donations can be made in Pete's honor to Agape Hospice. Agape Foundation 6041 S. Syracuse Way Suite 220 Greenwood Village, CO 80111 The family will be placing a brick in Pete’s honor at the City of Westminster Armed Forces Tribute Garden located at 6001 W. 104th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80020.
