Nicholas Jovene

January 19, 1938 — December 15, 2014

Nick passed away peacefully at his home in Denver on December 15, 2014 after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 19, 1938, he moved his family to Greeley in 1978 where he worked for many years as a Project Manager for Hensel Phelps Construction Company. His many projects included the Colorado Convention Center, Six Flags Elitch Gardens, Writer Square, Barclay Tower, Alamo Plaza, the Denver Downtown Aquarium, and the reconstruction of the Town of Limon following the 1990 tornado. After many years at the helm of his family owned construction company, Nick spent the last four years as a Construction Project Manager for Children's Hospital. Nick had a passion for his family, his work, and his community. He loved to golf and travel with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Delores, daughter and son-in law Debbie and Rick Ritter, daughter Peggy Norris, daughter Christine Jovene, son and daughter-in-law Nick, III and Tami Jovene. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Alyssa and Brent Ritter, Merideth and Caroline Norris, and Gianna and Samantha Martin. A memorial mass for Nick will be held on Monday, January 19th at 10:00 AM at Holy Ghost Church, 1900 California Street, Denver.
