Nebraska Lavender

March 1, 1929 — June 2, 2017

Nebraska Lavender, age 88 years of age, passed away in Aurora, Colorado on June 2, 2017. Born March 1, 1929 in Eutaw, Alabama, son of Jim Lavender and Cora Colvin. He lived and worked worldwide during his 20 years of Active Duty service for the United States Air Force and for Continental Airlines for another 20 years until retiring in 1992. Nebraska was a member of Parkhill United Methodist Church, Lion's Club and a registered Democrat. Nebraska Lavender is survived by Ida Lavender, spouse, Jann (Edward) Peterson, daughter, DeWayne (Deanna) Lavender, son, three grandchildren, Kyle Peterson, Jordan Peterson and Lindsey Lavender, John (Melodee) Lavender, brother, Eddie Jones, sister, in addition to a host of nieces and nephews. Nebraska was preceded in death by eight of his siblings Sam Lavender, Ida Pippen, Derry Lavender, Annie Brown, James Lavender, Robert Lavender, Clarence Lavender, Berniece Lavender. Services will be held at 10:00 am. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO. 80236 at 1:15 pm. and is open to the public. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Lavender home on June 14, 2017, following interment. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Nebraska Lavender to the Wounded Warrior Project Inc.
