DR. NANCY LOUISE WEINGARDT, J. D. October 23, 1960 â April 5, 2015 Memorial Service will be at Horan & McConaty, 1901 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 17, Father James ReVello officiating. Please come. The daughter of Evelyn L. Weingardt and the late Richard G. Weingardt, Nancy was sister to Susan Weingardt Whitworth and husband George and David R. Weingardt and wife, Kathy Boddicker Weingardt. Grandparents (all deceased) were Martin and Caroline Bauer Weingardt and Harold F. and Dorothy Engle Scheberle. Daughter of prominent Denver engineer, Richard G. Weingardt, Rich could hardly wait to get home from work. With her in his arms, father and daughter would walk for hours. She would look up at him as if she understood his every word. Through 6th grade, Nancy attended St. Anthony Grade School in Sterling, CO. Moving to Denver, she went to both Cherry Creek Schools and St. Mary's Academy. She received her B.A. at the U of CO, Boulder in 1983. Her J.D. law degree was earned at the U of Denver, Strum College of Law in 1986. She also spent a summer at Yale University studying French. Publishing ""Portugal's Accession & Integration Into the European Community"" Nancy was winner of the 1986 International Legal Writing competition. She studied at The Hague Academy of International Law in the summer of 1986 receiving a Fellowship in Private and Public International Law. When in Salzburg, Austria, she finished the McGeorge International Legal Externship Program. Nancy had two passions. Her first was adventure. While at Semester at Sea, she visited Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Greece, Israel, Morocco, and Spain. A member of the Ambassadors Club, she discussed economic and political issues with Ambassadors, Consuls and Dignitaries. She sometimes traveled with one or both of her parents, Richard G. Weingardt or Evelyn Scheberle Weingardt, joined many times by Susan Whitworth and David Weingardt. Travels included the UK, France, Wales, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Australia, many states in the US and lots of beaches, including Hawaii. The other passion was Art. Nancy studied Late Gothic and High Renaissance Art with the University of CO in Florence, Italy in 1981. An accomplished water colorist, she also worked in oils and other mediums. She and her Dad, Rich, shared this passion, and would often paint together, creating joyous laughter as well as skilled results.
