Mike Daugherty

Mike Daugherty passed away peacefully on June 21st in his home surrounded by family in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He was the husband of Kimberly Daugherty, they shared 28 beautiful years together. He was born on April 18th 1962 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Michael Daugherty Sr. and Helen Marie Hickman. He was a truly remarkable man who could always light up a room with this sense of humor and infectious smile. He was devoted to his work in the restaurant business and was loved by the many people he touched. One of Mike's favorite things to do was to cook homemade meals for his family and friends. He was such an amazing cook and even took time to teach many of us his favorite recipes! We often called him the dog whisper, he had a special way with his dog that he loved so dearly. He had a passion for sports and took a special interest in golf, he would play whenever he got the change! He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend. He will be dearly missed by his wife Kimberly Daugherty; Son James Michael Daugherty III; Daughter-in-Law Marissa Daugherty; Brother Jeff Daugherty; Sister Christy Ritterbeck; Nephew Brandon Daugherty; Niece Whitney Daugherty; Niece Gianna; Nephew Conner; Son-in-Law to Sharon & Jim Kesser; his puppies Harley and Molly and all the other family and friends that loved him so much! We will never understand why you had to leave us so soon, but we will never forget how incredible you were to our family. We will always love you and carry on your memory until we meet again.
