Maurine Thigpen McMichael

Maurine Thigpen McMichael died in Centennial, CO July 14, 2014 from Alzheimer's. She was born in Dangerfield, TX in 1926 to James Young and Myrtie Thigpen. After high school, she graduated from East Texas State Teacher's College in 1946. In early 1947, she married William J. McMichael. They were married for more than 67 years. Maurine is survived by her husband Bill; children Joe and Karen; grandchildren Lindsay Maurine, Hayley and Jo Lilla Bolyard; great-grandchildren Aydan William and Austin Joel. Her extended family includes many endeared nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister. Maurine had been a member of the Central Christian Church since 1972. Maurine was a loving mother with a compassion for those in need. As a deaconess she spent much of her time doing the work of the church. She loved good friends, culinary challenges and playing the piano. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 9, 1:00 PM, at the Central Christian Church, 3690 Cherry Creek Dr. South, Denver 80209.
