Mathilde Hanas

March 26, 1927 — April 22, 2018

Mathilde ""Hilde"" Hanas, 91 of Aurora, Colorado, passed away April 22, 2018 with her family by her side. Hilde was born March 26, 1927 in Schliersee, Germany and raised in Munich. Her passion for music lead her to attended the Conservatory of Music in Munich. On June 27, 1951 she married Stephen Hanas of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She came to the United States on July 4th, 1951. She loved spending time with her family and friends, classical music, gardening, shopping for clothes and interior decorating. Hilde was a parishioner for many years at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. After her husband passed away in 1989, she volunteered her time at Friend's of St. Andrew soup kitchen feeding the poor and donating help to provide for the less fortunate. She enjoyed going downtown to the symphony and opera. She took pride and joy caring for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Hilde is survived by her sister Ilse Losil; brother Freddle Babler; daughter Nancy (Tim) Neiswanger; granddaughters Michelle (Jason) Sesko, Lori Neiswanger; great-granddaughter Kaylee Sesko; nephews Siggi (Kristine) Hussner, Axel Hussner and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Alois Babler and Margaretha Rackl; her husband Stephen Hanas; brothers Alois Babler and Carl Kleeberger; sister Greti Hussner. In honor of Mathilde, a Visitation will be held Wednesday May 2, 2018 5:00PM-7:00PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave Aurora, CO 80014), followed by Rosary at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00AM Thursday May 3, 2018 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church (13120 E Kentucky Ave, Aurora, CO 80012), followed by Reception. Graveside service at 1:30PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area ""B"". Memorial contributions may be made to: Friends of St. Andrew 1525 Dallas St. Aurora, CO 80010 Please give your condolences to the Hanas family.
