Maria Baal

Maria Baal (Elbaum), age 70, loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt (Ciocia) and friend, died on July 25th, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. She was born in Bielawa, Poland on July 18th, 1947. Maria is survived by her husband George, son Robert (Louisa) Rozycki, daughter Angelica (Aaron) Lowe, stepdaughter, grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger sister. Maria came to Colorado when she was 18 years old and loved her new home, especially the mountains, but she never forgot her homeland. She loved reminiscing and talking about her time in Poland and went back and visited several times in her adult life. She still had many close friendships with the people she grew up with. She enjoyed cooking and was amazing at it-everything from her signature Polish dishes to American favorites, she always had family and friends asking for seconds and her recipes. Maria loved holidays but had a special place in her heart for Christmas and the preparation and cooking that went along with it. She always made Christmas extra special for her family and held fast and true to her traditions every year. Maria loved gardening, and was particularly fond of her rose garden. She took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker and keeping a clean house. It was often joked about among the family that her house was so clean, you could eat off the floor. She liked watching Broncos games, but only when they weren’t playing like “dummies”, as she would put it. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could joke with anyone. Maria adored angels and believed that guardian angels watched over all of us. We know that she is among those angels now and is watching over all those that loved her. The family of Maria Baal would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the M.I.C.U. at Denver Health for their care and support. A prayer service will be held at 3pm on Friday, August 4th at Mother Cabrini Shrine, 20189 Cabrini Blvd., Golden, CO 80401. The service will take place in the main chapel. Memorial Service will be at 4pm on Saturday, August 5th at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227. Reception following the service at Maria and George’s house.
