Margene Carlson Layton, 72, passed away November 22, 2017, at her home in Littleton, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born December 26, 1944, to Dwain and Ardeth Carlson and raised in Logan, Utah. Margene was a dental assistant in Logan, Utah where she met her eternal companion Ken Layton. They were married in the Logan, Utah LDS temple on September 25, 1964. During their marriage Kenâs profession took them all over the world and they finally settled in Littleton, Colorado where they lived for over 40 years and made many lifelong friends along the way. Margene enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, biking, swimming, camping, spending time with family and spoiling grandkids. Margene served in various capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including a full-time mission with her husband in Mongolia. Margene is survived by eight children: Shauna (Mike) Snider, Jenny (Shawn) Taylor, Kevin (Tiffany) Layton, Kathy Layton, Steve (Megan) Layton, Dan (Amity) Layton, Debbie (Nathan) Feher, Marty (Megan) Layton; twenty-six grandchildren (plus one on the way); one great-grand child; her brother Tommy and her sister Kathryn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, and a son, Chris. A Funeral Service for Margene will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, 11:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6705 South Webster Street, Littleton, CO 80128. The viewing will be held at the Church from 9:30am - 10:45am. Burial will be at the Littleton City Cemetery.
