Louis Anthony Lepry Jr., "Lou", 62, passed away Feb. 22nd in Centennial, Colorado.

Originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Lou headed west to attend Fort Lewis College. There, he soon found his love for geology and a Colorado girl, Peggy, who became his wife. After college, he attended the University of Arizona to get his masters, further developing his passion for the mining industry, a career which soon would allow him to start traveling the world. From exploring Alaska via helicopter, to trekking through small villages in the mountains of Peru, it wouldn't be unusual to find Lou in an exotic locale on any given week. Yet, no matter how far off the beaten path he roamed, home was truly where his heart was. A topnotch recycler of cans, facts, and found "treasures", Lou was also an exceptional story teller, avid collector, but most of all, a thoughtful friend and devoted husband and dad. No one made us laugh like Lou and we will dearly miss him for that.

He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, and children, Will, Miles, and Anna. He is also survived by his parents, Lou and Joan, and his five younger siblings: his brother in Denver, Tom, and his family, and his four sisters in Rhode Island, Mary Lepry, Elizabeth Leach, Susan Lepry, and Julie Medeiros and their families. Lou is also survived by his mother-in-law, Bridget and brothers-in-law, Tom, Jeff, and Mike Barenberg in Denver, along with the best friends anyone could wish for.

A memorial service starting at 1:00pm will be held Friday, March 3rd at The Inn at Hudson Gardens. Friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to the Lou Lepry Memorial Fund to support the Department of Geosciences at Fort Lewis College.

Our most heartfelt thanks to his doctors at South Denver Cardiology: Ira Dauber, Sri Sundaram, and Paula.
