Lorraine is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Cindy, Toby, Tina, and Anthony. She has left behind a large group of friends and family who will miss her dearly. Born On February 11th 1952 in Vallejo, California. She spent her early childhood years in Horse Creek, Wyoming where her father, Blas LeRoux, worked in the sugar mill. She moved to North Denver at 8 years old, where she attended Garden Place Elementary and excelled in spelling, choir and playing jacks. She continued her early adult life in Denver, graduating from North High School. A constant learner, she received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Red Rocks Community College. Lorraine was extremely proud of her family. She loved her husband Alfred, lighting up at the very sight of him until the very end. Her children were her world, as she ensured they were successful in whatever path they chose. The love she instilled into her family will be passed on for generations. After spending five minutes interacting with Lorraine, you would feel as if you were the favorite most important person in the room, that is if you hadn’t fell down from laughing at her constant humor. Lorraine had a passion for learning and teaching. She spent her life soaking up books across any subject. She could knock out a New York Time’s crossword puzzle at lightning speed. This became apparent in her professional life, as she began working at the Big Sisters of Colorado. Lorraine was quickly recognized in this position and was quickly promoted to Director of the Adams County Division. She continued to work in mentoring/education, working as a Head Start Educator for the Rocky Mountain SER program. The last decade, Lorraine spent traveling with her family, including trips to Hawaii, Alaska and various weekend trips with her sister Tina, where she stayed at the best 2 star hotels around. She loved spending time in the natural hot springs at Glenwood, Steamboat and Idaho. She will be remembered for her listening ear, kindness and generosity. Memorial Service will be Saturday, December 2, 2017, 5pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3220 Federal Boulevard, Denver, followed by a reception at the VFW Post 4747 W Colfax Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80204.
