Linda Whetman

Linda (Worley) Whetman (62) passed away peacefully in her home on May 30, 2018. Linda was born in Salt lake City, Utah on July 24, 1955, to Lester and Carolynn (Silvers) Worley and moved to Boulder, Colorado with her family in 1966. She married the love of her life, Terry Whetman, November 4, 1977 and moved to Broomfield, Colorado where they raised two sons, Chad and Brian, whom she loved with all her heart. She attended Fairview High School (1974); and received degrees in nursing from CCD Denver, 1977, and Regis University (RN, CCRN).

Neonatal Nursing became a lifetime passion. She was regarded as one of the top NICU nurses, caring for premature and critically-ill infants which earned her many Excellence in Nursing and Service Awards for her contribution to the community. Later in her career, she transitioned her nursing focus to dialysis and most recently to caring for the elderly. Linda had a compassionate heart, a love for nursing, and a gentle way with those for whom she cared.

Linda truly was someone who lit up every room she entered, she welcomed all into her home, and brightened the spirit of those around her with her unique sense of humor. She found the fun and delight in even the simplest of things. Linda enjoyed playing the guitar, arts and crafts, her ""zen"" garden, home refurbishing and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband,Terry; and both her parents. She is survived by her two sons: Chad (Barbara) Whetman (daughters: Julianne and Cienna); and Brian (Angela) Whetman (children: Beau and Kylee); two loving sisters: Shelley (Richard) Smyka and Juliette Worley; many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 W. 80th Ave Arvada, CO 80003 with burial to follow at 2:30 PM at Broomfield County Commons.
