Jesus Rodriquez

Jesus Rodriquez was born September 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Jose Rodriquez and Mary (Santoyo) Rodriquez, and passed away April 8, 2018 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at age 83, He served 33 years in the United States Army retiring as Staff Sergeant and was one of the first members of the Green Berets, Special Forces. He was the recipient of several honors, including the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, two Bronze Stars, and numerous combat and campaign ribbons. Prior to him joining the Army, he was a professional boxer. Jesus was preceded in death by his wife Nellie, on March 2, 2017. He is survived by his children, Rose, Charlene, Angel, Terry, Linda, David and Joseph, and his brothers and sisters, Michael, Bobby, Angie, Theresa, Helen, Connie and Ruth. He was also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren He was preceded in death his father Jose, mother Maria, stepmother Victoria; his father and mother in-law Nick and Rose Sanchez; children, Tony, Alfonso, and Joe; brothers and sister, Johnny, Tony, Richard, Raymond, Joe, Dolores “Lola”, and his granddaughter Charmaine. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26th at 6:00 PM, followed by the Rosary at 7PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 27th, 9:30 AM, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, West 29th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Following the Interment at the Cemetery, the family will host a reception. These details will be forthcoming.
