Irene Baumgartner

Irene Baumgartner (nee Scholl) passed away January 5, 2015. She was born in a German colony near Odessa on the Black Sea in the Ukraine. In 1944 she immigrated to Germany and in 1951 to the United States. She lived much of her life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband, Alex. In 1989, they retired to the Denver/Lakewood area. Irene enjoyed caring for her husband, bringing up two children, sewing and needlework, cooking, and working for a major international company. She is survived by her husband, Alex Baumgartner, children, Werner Baumgartner (wife, Betty) and Ingrid Lewis (husband, George), and sister, Erika Nuss. She enjoyed the opportunity to watch 6 grandchildren grow up: Alex, Peter (wife, Julie), Nick and Karl Baumgartner and Elizabeth and Jacob Lewis. A Funeral services for Irene will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 10:30AM at Concordia Lutheran Church, 13371 West Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
