Hutson Oliver Thomas 2/2/2001 - 8/29/2017 Hutson Thomas was born February 2, 2001, in Littleton, Colorado, the son of Jerry Thomas and Liz Mann Miller. He grew up in Breckenridge, Basalt, and Denver, Colorado with his parents and siblings, Corey, Jordan and Tennessee Thomas. Hutson spent much of his life in the Rocky Mountains. He was an avid snowboarder, hiker, and loved to scuba dive. Hutson was a deeply passionate young man, incredibly intelligent, compassionate, adventurous, and kind. Hutson’s life cannot be measured by its length, but by the people he so uniquely touched. Our love for him will never end, and he will be deeply missed. Hutson is survived by his parents Jerry Thomas and Liz Mann Miller; his step-father Mike Miller; his sister Tennessee Thomas and his brothers Corey and Jordan Thomas. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Jim Mann (and wife Lynn) as well as Georgia Kitsman (and husband Chuck) and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Patricia Thomas. A visitation was held Friday, September 1, 2017 between the hours of 6:00pm through 8:00pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80112. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2017 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 9203 South University Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, Colorado 80126. Hutson's family extends deep gratitude to St. Andrew United Methodist Church for opening their hearts, opening their minds, and opening their doors to their family. GRIEF SUPPORT FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN St Andrew has a six-week session called “Good Grief” beginning Mondays from 5:00 - 6:30pm, September 25 - October 30. It is a free program open to the community. Good Grief is a peer support group designed to encourage emotional healing for children and youth (Kindergarten - 8th grade). Contact person is Rhonda Smith, 303-794-2683. SUICIDE PREVENTION EDUCATION: Two sessions are being offered at St Andrew UMC for parents to gather with pastors and local mental health professionals to learn more about suicide prevention.
