Gloria Wollenhaupt

Gloria Wollenhaupt, age 91, died on July 11, 2017 in Longmont, Colorado. She was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska on March 16, 1926, to Ray and Fereida Morrison. She moved with her family to Denver, Colorado in 1938. Gloria graduated from East High School in 1944 and married Jack Wollenhaupt of Denver in 1946. After a brief period living in Schenectady, New York, Gloria and Jack returned to the Denver area where they raised three children and lived for the rest of their lives. Gloria was a loving homemaker. Gloria was a devout Catholic who attended Mass regularly and participated in centering prayer meetings and retreats. She was known for her empathy, compassion and generosity, and for her impressive memory. Gloria enjoyed travel, cooking, dining out, reading and movies and she was skilled in a variety of crafts. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Jack, her brother George Morrison, sister Donna Cameron and granddaughter Remi Garner. She is survived by her sister Mary Kutzler, brother-in-law Bill (Mary); sons Steve and David (Margaret), daughter Joni (Grant) Garner; grandchildren David (Amy), Julia (Dave) Mulholland, Elizabeth (Rich) Medina, Tony (Jolina), Chloe and Emma Garner; great grandchildren Elijah, Emilio, Shylah, Trenton and Jayla. Memorial Mass will be held at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, 7400 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80003 at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25. Private Committal at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
